My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they're referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I'm the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but you deserve much more than just a small paragraph showing my nutty nature, therefore if you do wish to find out more, please visit the

Red Nose Day

Last night I was watching Red Nose Day live on BBC One and began to think. I have to do something for this is great cause. The videos really hit home, and I felt embaraased to say that I yet have not done anything yet.
Unfortunately, I am broke, but hopefully you aren’t! At the bottom of every page is a banner linking to the Red Nose Day website. So use it, and donate now. Save a life now.

On other news, I have installed a couple new plugins to spice up my website.
First of all I installed an Author Highlight plug in which with some CSS i can make comments made by me to be displayed in a different font colour. Making it easier for you to see if I have replied to a comment you made.
The other one was called “Comment Timeout” which with some configuration, close comments to previous posts. I have decided to close comments to posts 120 days old, helping cut down on spammers who use old posts. Another option is to limit the amount of comments of a post/page. This may be useful to someone who has open discussions, but for me I felt that it was unnecessary seeing as I don’t get many comments. :(

My portfolio will be changing soon. I have decided that the layout is too much for a portfolio, and the coding is (I am going to kick myself for saying this) is too hard to make cross-browser compatible. I have had some inspiration for a much cleaner layout, from my new phone’s menu! Will be tricky in making the icons, but it should look really nice. :D

Edit: After reading posts about spam and WordPress. I decided to follow the advice on a plugin well known for helping prevent bot spamming. Thankyou ‘Math Comment Spam Protection’. It forces the user to answer a simple maths question to be able to comment.

Math comment spam protection, you know it makes sense!
The videos were, as always, deeply moving. especially the one with all the children dying from aids and all the other ‘child killers’. that little girl with the swollen body really broke my heart.

And then I sort of fainted with shock when Tony Blair said ‘Am I bovvered?’ to Catherine Tate. I was really not expecting that. It made me think of all the jokes the jokes that are going to be made about ‘being bovvered’ in Prime Minister’s Questions this week. :)

I was in histerics when I saw him do that, and the look on Catherine Tate’s face. Was priceless.
They should make a mastercard advert about it. The last one would be; “The cost of seeing Tony Blair perform Am I bovvered? Priceless.”

The one that moved me the most was when Ant and Dec were in that hut with the mother and 13 children and she was asking if it was the same in England where we sleep all together on the floor. It made me realise how lucky I am.
