My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they're referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I'm the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but you deserve much more than just a small paragraph showing my nutty nature, therefore if you do wish to find out more, please visit the

General Studies Exam drama

I had my 2nd and 3rd General Studies exams yesterday and now I am done with the subject for life. Hopefully. I say hopefully because due to drama at the end of the two exams which were held one after the other (totalling to 2 and a half hours of writing about social, moral and economic debates, science and maths), everyone inside the hall may have their exam papers cancelled or worse, fail the whole subject then retake it next year.

The drama was simply the fact that 3 people decided to take their mobile phones into the exam hall, have them switched on and have bluetooth on. Unbeknown to us, the teachers checked for any bluetooth devices in the room and found them. This then has to be reported to exam board as a “fellany”. -.-;

To be perfectly honest, I don’t really give a damn about the subject. It is a waste of time at school, and just another way for the school to get money. But what I don’t understand is why take your mobile phone into the exam hall when you know it isn’t allowed, and second of all why?! have your bluetooth on!? I just don’t get some people, because it isn’t like your going to be able to use your mobile phone in the exam, so why bother?

Duh! Didn’t you know? You could have had the answers magically sent to your brain by bluetooth!11! Of course you have to redo it! :P

I had to do General Studies because my school forced me to. They get £££s for every student who takes the exam so of course they shoved everyone they could into it. *Rolls eyes* Stupid greedy schools… I got a D. I’d have preferred a U, quite frankly… At least it wouldn’t show up on my A Level certificates like it currently does. Urgh!

It makes you wonder why they didn’t do the bluetooth sweep before the exam started…wouldn’t that have been the logical thing to do? :?

Presumably it’s because of the popularity of students either storing exam answers on their phones or texting for them during exams. I don’t know if that’s what those students were doing or if they were just careless, but I know I’ve heard of that happening at a couple of high schools and unis in the States.

Agree with Amanda here - also, we’ll get asked to put our mobile phones in our bags before we go in. Then they will ask us again when we’re in the exam hall if we still have them upon our person and people STILL will! Why? Surely they heard the first time? Save yourself the embarrassment!
