Let the ball roll
I have come to realise that I have been a bad web master for the past couple of weeks, having lost off motivation like stated in the my last post, but that has changed quite dramatically over the last week.
When returning from holiday in Spain, I found out from my brother that I had an interview with Tescos I had applied for, on the photo developing lab desk and following an induction day today, I am now an official employee. So after 8 months of looking for a job (before Christmas 2006), I finally have a job! I am so excited, with me taking up AS Photography and buying a camera soon, this job will be very beneficial for me I think.
The pay is not that great, but it beats nothing. I also have to be trained on check-outs for my first two days, so that might not be so much fun! All the rules, and services I have to remember is kind of daunting. Especially having to try and remember where the bar-code is on all of the items, but I suppose that comes with practice. My first day is actually tomorrow evening, and being a Friday I am expecting it to be quite busy. It’s going to be a laugh, I can tell.
Like I said before, my lack of motivation is no more and my to-do list which was a full A4 page when I started the summer holidays, is down to 3/4 things. All be it, they are major things, but it looks so good when I have little left to do. I am finally able to start building up my portfolio, one more year and I will need it for my University application! That is if I get to University. If you live in England, you would know that the AS/A level results were released today:
I managed to receive a B in Graphic Products, even though I left half the paper unanswered, but I suppose I pulled myself up WITH AN A IN MY COURSEWORK! You cannot imagine how pleased I was to see that written on it, it means that I can do graphic design and my plans for bettering myself this year will reek rewards, or so I hope.
I also got a B in Theatre Studies, I was thrilled and so were my teachers, especially after my practical accident. What I don’t get it is in the run up to the exams I get C’s and D’s in practice papers, but then get high B’s in the actual exam. My friends who were really worried about their results, because they do well in the practical and get U’s in the written exams, managed to exceed all our expectations with high B’s aswell.
On the down side, I got an E in Maths. I was quite upset about it, but it is better that the U that I was expecting. I will just have to really pull my socks up next year, especially with a part time job and AS Photography on Wednesday evenings.
It’s all moving very fast. It is great, I now have meanings to get up in the morning. Being summer holidays, I am looking to do quite a lot of over time at my new job, and earn some more cash to last my birthdays/Christmas coming up. Talking of Birthdays, I am 18 in 3 months! :woot:
And on that exciting note, well the whole post has been exciting in my eyes, I will log to go to bed - or watch some more CSI, whichever looks more comforting.
