My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they're referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I'm the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but you deserve much more than just a small paragraph showing my nutty nature, therefore if you do wish to find out more, please visit the

New addictions

I never really understood the obsession that swept our nation with High School Musical. It just seemed to me like another children’s movie set to music, with a cheesy story line and predictable twists. That, of course, was until I watched it for the first time on Friday afternoon.

My best friend, Holly, invited me to her ‘High School Musical 2′ party last week, and I felt, if I was going to attend I would need to have watched the first one. I wouldn’t want to be lost in the plot now, would I? So Holly lent me her High School Musical DVD on Friday, and I set home after school, got cosy in my conservatory and let the show commence before going to work.

I loved it and to be completely honest, got a bit too carried away. I really want to be able to sing and dance like Zac Efron. I suppose it is one of those movies where everything is so cheesy, it’s good? Towards the end, my mum got back from shopping and sat down with horror slapped across her face. Horror that one movie could be so cheesy and that I could get so into said cheesy film.

Having watched the first film, I was ready for the party last night, and to sit down in Holly’s house with her lovely dog, Cosmo (he is lovely, he just doesn’t like me and wants to kill me), my friends and a big bowl (okay, 3 big bowls) of popcorn. Everyone who attended managed to put off seeing the new film before hand, bar one - damn her, giving into temptation.

High School Musical 2 was so much better than the first, I must say. I kept having moments of ‘OMG! We haven’t had a song in about 5 minutes, what is wrong with this film!’, but they paid off. I loved it so much, I came home from work today and downloaded the first and second soundtracks. So. Good.

Next step for Ben: High School Musical on Stage in London! :p
Next Next step for Ben: Have a singing voice like Zac Efron.

I couldn’t find a hairbrush so I sang into my prittstick through the whole movie. I can do the ‘Work This Out’ dance now (sort of)!

I just wanted to say that there are fellow addicts out there. :P

Not you too, Ben!

That Zac Efron, though. Can’t complain, can we? ;)

Glad you enjoyed yourself. I doubt I will ever watch HSM 1 or 2. I tried listening to some of the songs from it and HATED them, so if I can’t stand the music, I probably wouldn’t like the movie either.
