My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they're referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I'm the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but you deserve much more than just a small paragraph showing my nutty nature, therefore if you do wish to find out more, please visit the

The Bride and Groom.

Yesterday marked a new stepping stone in my sisters life; she got married to Tony Halward. No longer known as Lisa MacGowan, Lisa Halward is currently on her way to Scotland for a 2 week honeymoon!

The wedding took place at The Old Castle Hotel, Windsor (opposite the guild hall where Charles and Camilla wed, and therefore opposite the Queen’s castle) at 2:00pm in a sweet room set into the heart of the hotel decorated with lit candles, flowers and family members all around. Everything was perfect and it all went swimmingly. Minus the fact that the CD player messed up and Lisa had to walk down the aisle in silence, but she did not let that phase her day. It wasn’t a traditional church wedding with a vicar, or hymns being that neither Tony or Lisa are really religious, so it was a short and sweet 20 minute saying of vows and then signing the registrar.

For months I had been looking forward to and talking about my sisters wedding to friends and colleagues at work, but it wasn’t until yesterday morning when I saw Lisa standing outside the door in her beautiful wedding dress and hair nicely arranged, that I realised my sister is all grown up and getting married.

I think I can safely say everyone enjoyed the day, the food, and the plenty of drinks. I had a bit too much but it is always the job of the bride’s brother to get a bit very drunk.

Photos removed due to family not wanting them up. Bleh.

Congratulations to Tony and Lisa. Now if only I could find out where Tony fits into the Halward clan! I myself am the grandson of Edward Halward, who emigrated from Selly Oak around 1879, to Cannington, Ontario.
