My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they're referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I'm the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but you deserve much more than just a small paragraph showing my nutty nature, therefore if you do wish to find out more, please visit the

Quick change of plans!

The summer holidays are almost over, and being that my A-level results come out tomorrow, I have seriously changed my mind about going to University. Shock! I know, but I just feel I would get greater experience and would enjoy it more if I were to get a job in a design company and work my way up the ladder that way.

That being said, I have been working on a CV (kindly based on Jordan’s resume template), which once I get my results tomorrow I will send out to a list of local companies of whom I would like to work for. Things are already looking on the up; spontaneously I contacted a company on Friday and they have kindly replied and want to speak further over the phone with me about what we could do. :D

Though it has been proven that people with a degree earn more in the long run and go into higher ranking jobs, I would rather enjoy myself sooner and get into work sooner then spend another 3 years plodding along in education. Also, I feel if I have the talent and passion for the work, I do not see why I cannot earn the same as some person with a degree (and have less debt).

Again like yesterday’s post, here is to hoping. I shall post tomorrow (if I find the time) what my result are. :)

Have you considered both working and going to university? I’m not sure if British universities offer part-time study, but if they do, you could always work in your study around your job and have the best of both worlds!

That way, you can get your degree and the possibility of higher pay while you work.
