My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they're referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I'm the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but you deserve much more than just a small paragraph showing my nutty nature, therefore if you do wish to find out more, please visit the

Yoursite.nu Vs. Rev.iew.me

We all know that I never really jump into the for-front of drama, because most of the time I just find it repetitive insults and lulz. Good to read, but rarely fun to engage in. We, also, all know that when Jem and Jacky released rev.iew.me, that there would be tension between yoursite.nu and it. Simply because they both have the same functionality and target market.

Unfortunately, it turns out yoursite.nu simply cannot take the competition. From my understanding, a few members from rev.iew.me plugged the new site on yoursite.nu’s tagboard to simply let members know that a new, better option was available to them. Better? Yes, mainly because when the website was bought and passed over to ‘Frank’, the website was left to deteriorate and become a haven for spam websites, messages and very poorly written reviews.

This plugging of the new website, resulted in the tag-board being removed entirely from the website due to ’spamming’, and both Jacky and Jem’s accounts being removed from the website. Pathetic right?

To further test their childish behaviour, both I and Naco posted on the YS.nu forums plugging the new websites, to find in 4 minutes of posting, the threads deleted along with our accounts. With some further registration to the website and chatting with the owner, we were told we were spamming, though all we did was post 1 message plugging a new website.

As a posted on Snark, it just shows that YS.nu cannot handle competition. If the website was not left to crumble as it was, Jem would have never been put into the position of having to create a similar site. Now that it has been published, you would now think that YS.nu would take this as an opportunity to better there website, and keep the users they can from transferring across. But no. They have to delete every reference and pretend like it doesn’t exist, in hope that its users do not find out about it!

Yoursite.nu: Stop acting like a bunch of 12 years, and act your age. As I recall, Frank was 36 years old when he took over the website. 36! Pathetic. Let the drama continue.

Edit: It seems that YS.nu has been taken over within the last week, and he was deleting what he deemed as ’spam’. Seems he bought a site with bad-reputation at a bad time. Poor him.

Yea, poor James! That bastard Frank dumped YS.nu on some poor unsuspecting student, once he realized he was going to have his ass handed to him. Which makes him seem even worse. What an arse!

I feel bad for James as well. He clearly bought it at a bad time. Frank: ruining websites and ripping people off! What a lovely life.

Ah, who cares, really? Ys.nu smells and are sore losers, and rev.iew.me is AWESOME.

… Also, I apparently didn’t type a comment when I did your review on rev.iew.me, Ben, because if I had, I would have said OMG I LOVE HOW YOUR COMMENT TEXTAREA TEXT IS HUGE! You would have ended up with a zillion stars. ;)

I feel sorry for that James. Then again, if you’re going to purchase a website you should actually evaluate its value properly right?!

I remember yoursite.nu being so popular in the past. Well hey, if it’s good enough any amount of competitive site plugging wouldn’t hurt!

@ Rilla: I heard that YS.nu was sold for $5000 originally? I really doubt Frank got that much for it this time around. If he did, James really needs his money back.

@ Aisling: It’s not that huge is it?! o.o It’s readable, haha.

Wow. That is really, really lame on the part of Frank.

I was never a member of YS.nu but I am glad to be part of Rev.iew.me. We know which one is superior. ;P

Lol, that sucks. I don’t know Frank, but I’ve read a lot about him the last week. Stupid behavior, really.

Rilla

$5000? As the seller, Frank probably deliberately misled James about the current value of YS.nu. But I also blame James for not doing more ‘research’ and look-around at the internally workings and value of that site before he handed the money over.

I offered Frank my services, free of charge, to debug and better the community way back earlier in the year. He ignored me. I waited months for an update from him, and nothing.. he only has himself to blame.

As for this James dude - if he’s real, then more fool him for buying into a dead site. I’ll give him $30 for the domain name, because it’s not worth shit all else.

Gosh, I love eDrama.

I used to be a major member on YSnu but as soon as Linda sold it off I stopped visiting it as much.

I can’t believe that anyone who mentions rev.iew.me is being deleted though - that’s damn petty.

May the best review site win (and we all know which one that’ll be).

:( I was banned along with Jem and Jacky for plugging the new site in the first round of deletions. I’m proud! :D

I was just thinking today about how YS would be affected with the launch of rev.iew.me. I guess I got my answer. Lol its kind of hilarious how threatened he was acting.

I don’t care for either site, but a plug is the same thing as spam.

Jem
28/11/2008

“a plug is the same thing as spam” … what kind of ridiculous logic is that? You plug a site, using a feature that was implemented specifically for that purpose, and it’s spam? What else were PLUGboards invented for?

That’s pure immaturity on the part of a 36 year old. Competition is a good thing and I would take it as a chance to better my site, if I were the owner of YSnu, but taking it the way he is, that’s just stupid. He really needs to grow up.

You indicate that YS.nu was acting like a bunch of 12 year olds, but it appears that the opposite is true and that it is the members of rev.iew.me that are acting like children.

As soon as I joined YS.nu I was sent a private message by Mimi (see above) telling me to join rev.iew.me instead and was very immature and negative about YS.nu. This is spam. Unsolicited messages to people she didn’t even know. When I confronted her in the YS.nu message boards all she could respond with is LOLLLLLLL. Of course she then went to the rev.iew.me tagboard and commented on how she hated me and how childish I was. And then of course other members like Vera had to agree like some sort of clones.

And Jem, the people weren’t just using the plugboard, and you know this based on your comments in Snark. They were posting it to the tagboard, in the discussion board, etc. At the same time they were saying how bad YS.nu was. These are not places for that.

Also Jem posted on her site that she was mad that Ys.nu was stealing her ideas. Several people commented and wanted to know what. She waited a day to response with something like “Oh not really”. Not very professional. From what I can see Rev.iew.me stole everything from YS.nu.

This includes the concept, the tagline “A website reviewing community”, the 5 star ranking, etc, etc. The home page even has a tag board and plug and recent sites just like the original YS.nu site you stole the information from. Just look at the user pages. “Likes” and “Dislikes”. You couldn’t even change the words a little?

Jem continues to outright lie about Ys.nu in Snark. Saying he deleted recent comments by Ben. Last I looked, they were not deleted and Jem knows this.

And now that James is trying to run a contest for his members and also donate to charity, you have to have to complain about that as well with a comment from Jem of ”
Let’s just call him a big tosser and leave it at that Tongue”

I don’t see any of the members of YS.nu posting anything so childish as this and lying about their activities as above.

I think you should look at your own selves before casting criticism at others.

Epic cross-posting fail, pammy.
