My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they're referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I'm the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but you deserve much more than just a small paragraph showing my nutty nature, therefore if you do wish to find out more, please visit the

About

My name is Benjamin. I come from the UK (although I was born in New Zealand) and I have been described as having a ginger personality. Whatever that means. I assume they’re referring to my hair and my Ronald Weasley nature. Aside from that, I’m the only male blogger worth knowing.

You can thank Amber for that lovely introduction, but I thought you deserved much more than a small paragraph showing my nutty nature!

More About me

So without further ado, on the 20th November 1989, my life began at a hospital in Auckland, New Zealand - I was actually born no less than 30 minutes after my dad’s birthday! It wasn’t until the age of 3 that my entire family and I then moved back to the UK and have been since.
My family consists of the norm father, mother, older sister by 6 years, and older brother by 4 years.

I am of course a ginger through and through. Although at times I wish that I could dye my hair and look better. From my grandad I inherited the ginger gene and with it means that I am destined to be forever pale - however long the holiday I will never tan! A workaround that I have come to discover is that with enough sun, my freckles begin to merge into a dark brown blob. I used to wear glasses, but at the age of 15 I got fed up of the abuse of ‘4-eyes’, and the constant looking like a complete nerd, so I switched to contact lenses and never looked back!

After years of a much deprived social life, I turned to the internet world where I dabbled in website design, constant IM chats and playing MMPORG’s like Tibia, and here I am today.
Nevertheless, I have managed to retain a close group of friends who I love dearly. All come from different backgrounds, and “classes of society”. Sometimes I am the peacekeeper, and at other times I am the troublemaker, but then again, who isn’t?

My personality can be misunderstood at times as being extremely clingy and annoying; but that is just me! I am very wacky when it comes to my passion for the theatre, web design and my friends. That and the fact I am very clumsy at times might be the reason why I am thought of as a real Ron Weasley.

About Solipsus

Solipsus was the final choice for my new, more professional and final home.
I settled for the name Solipsus after trying to to translate numerous creative words into Latin, Spanish and Italian.
The word ’solipsus’ was taken, with permission from Rikkye (nuwen.com), from the downloadable wordpress theme. I grew a great liking for the word as it sounded quirky and memorable for me - obviously not too memorable though, seeing as some friends keeping forgetting it!

Now 1 year old, the domain has grown and over time has offered numerous resources such as WordPress themes, but after finishing college/sixth form and going into a job and university I thought it would be best to slim down and keep this as a personal website which offers information about me, a blog and that’s it! This refurbishment was completed in July 2008.

Solipsus is hosted by Holdfire Network on the Basic Shared package which offers plenty of web-space and bandwidth that I need to keep this site running. If interested, just follow the link above and have a nose around, you won’t regret it.

Why ‘The Blog with a Frog’?

Ever since I was a child, I was obsessed with frogs and the furniture of my room was made up of frog shelving, a bed side table in the shape of a frog and green walls. For one of my birthdays, I was actually given by my parents a board made up of bathroom tiles which showed the journey of a frog jumping across the board! Therefore when I was carrying out my refurbishment and wanted to choose an icon in which would be personal to me, I could not think of anything better than a frog - my trusty mascot. :)
